East coast of land masses, due to warm ocean currents Tropical oceans (0-30° above/below equator)

What are the functions of coral reefs?
A
- Huge biodiversity only found in coral reefs
- Acts as ‘carbon sink’ reduce carbon dioxide in atmosphere
- Acts as physical barrier; prevents sediment from washing up and damaging shoreline
- Tourism industry (jobs, souvenirs, economic development and positive multiplier effect)
