Policy Statement
Control and command includes leadership, coordination, effective decision making, and behaving lawfully and ethically with a prevention and victim focus.
What is Control?
Control refers to the responsibility for coordinating and directing the response to an incident. Control sets priorities and objectives, assigns tasks to another agency. Control operates horizontally.
What is Command?
Command operates vertically within an organisation. It describes the internal ownership, administrative responsibility, and detailed direction of an agency’s personal and resources.

Appreciation process and format?
Appreciation process:
An appreciation is a process for problem solving and decision making. It uses a set pattern so that all factors and alternatives are considered.

What is a warning order?
Preliminary notice of an order, covers scope and probable tasks, timings, full briefing area.
what are operation orders?
Orders that directly come from the controller/commander.
GSMEAC delivered.
Debriefs
The purpose is to critically examine what went well during the operation and areas to be improved. Ideally run by senior member independent of the operation.
Lessons learnt
Lessons learnt should only be addressed at the conclusion of the operation. These lessons should form part of the operation so that any lessons or mistakes are identified and addressed immediately and changes made as soon as possible if needed.
