A
- should not be performed when motion is detrimental to the healing of tissues

Contraindications for stretching include?
A
- Acute inflammation
- During soft tissue healing (e.g. following tendon repair)
- ROM limited by bone-on-bone contact
- Recent Fracture
- Hypermobility
- Hypomobility that allows for improved function (e.g. tenodesis grip)
- Acute pain associated with stretching.

- Joint ankylosis
- Malignancy involving bone
- diseases that affect the integrity of ligaments (RA and Down syndrome)
- Arterial insufficiency
- Active inflammatory and/or infective process

- Arthrosis (DJD)
- Metabolic bone disease (osteoporosis, Paget’s disease, and tuberculosis)
- Hypermobility
- Total joint replacement
- Pregnancy
- Spondylolisthesis
