What is Nomination?
Selection by the Employer of a particular subcontractor to carry out or supply works.
What is Set-Off?
Monies owed to the Employer which are deducted from Interim Payments.
What are Statutory Provisions?
Set out by law and must be complied with [regardless of what a contract says?]
What are Named Subcontractors?
Choice of subcontractors supplied by the Employer, with one becoming the Domestic Subcontractor.
What is the difference between the JCT and NEC in relation to industrial sectors and format?
NEC is also applicable to the Civil Engineering sector

What is Frustration?
When an event beyond the control of the parties makes it impossible to fulfill contractual obligations
What is a Latent Defect?
Defects which are not readily identifiable upon inspection.
What is a Provisional Sum?
An allowance in the contract for work that cannot be fully designed and costed.
What is a Defined Provisional Sum?
An allowance for work not completely designed but CERTAIN SPECIFIC INFORMATION CAN BE GIVEN.

An allowance for work with MINIMAL INFORMATION ie not known:
