A

Virgina Plan, Randolph –> single house chamber, equal representation of state regardless of inhabitants, legislature power of taxes and commerce

new jersey plan, peterson –> bicameral legislature, representation is proportional, lower chamber by citizens upper chamber by lower house

great compromise –> two chambers –> house of representatives - proportional representation, senate –> all states equal

low chamber can leavy taxes

A

federal republic help to face the issue of popular government

  • violence between factions and one judges of oneself
  • delegation to a small number of population –> wisdom + patriotism + love of justice
  • sinister temper?
  • large republic = more candidate = easier to find the best fit + more people voting hence avarage of best one
  • too large –> no contact with people
