Describe Implied Consent
A Pt’s actions agree to a procedure
Eg. Pt turns up and sits in the chair
What is Expressed Consent?
Following a direct question, the patient agrees to a procedure
Eg.
Verbally treatment is explained and verbally the patient agrees
What is informed consent?
Information is provided to the patient so that they can understand and be able to make the best decision for their individual needs
