Aversive drugs

A

Disulfiram, prevents alcohol of braking down, causing nausea. Most effective under supervision

Anti-craving meds

A

Naltrexone, obstructs the receptors, reducing the rewarding effect ai craving. Relatively ineffective for chronic alcoholics. Another is acamprosate (inhibits glutamatergic system, reducing alcohol craving)
