Conduction disorders Part 2 Tachyarrythmias Flashcards
What 3 things give narrow regular tachycardias?
sinus tach, supraventricular tach, atrial flutter
Where are the p waves in SVT?
hidden in QRS (or sometimes after the QRS)
What does atrial flutter look like?
“sawtooth”–sometimes only in 1-2 leads SO LOOK AT ALL LEADS!
What do the P and T waves often look like in sinus tachycardia?
“camel humps”
What are some causes of SVT?
thyroid disorder, PE, sympathomimetics
What are some causes of atrial flutter and a fib?
CHF, COPD, ischemic heart disease, alcohol use or withdrawal, thyroid disorders
What are the 3 narrow irregular tachycardias?
atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter with variable conduction, multifocal atrial tachycardia
What does a fib look like?
no distinct regular atrial activity–irregularly irregular
What are the 3 wide regular tachycardias?
sinus tach w/ aberrant conduction, VT, and SVT with aberrent conduction (ex: BBB or WPW)
What are the 2 wide irregular tachycardias?
a fib w/ bundle branch block and a fib with WPW
