Q
  1. What is CRS?
A

a. Appropriate and authorised MAML holders carried out the maintenance ordered by CAMO IAW ICA through oversight and management and there are non-conformances that would endanger the flight safety.

Q
  1. Who can sign CRS in line and base maintenance?
A

a. In base maintenance, MM can only sign CRS for the whole maintenance package and utilise SS for verification.
i. They are SST with E62 and MS without E62 sign as SS and sign CRS as N/A in EPSS of MRC card to support top US. MAPs sign TSO
b. In line maintenance, appropriately authorised MAML holder (SST with E62/MS with E62 removed) can sign CRS.
i. SST can sign TSO/CRS where they have personally performed and self-verified.
ii. MS can sign CRS not TSO where one or more MAPS are working under MS. They achieve it through ‘Oversight and management’ via supervision.

Q

What is Maintenance Check Flight MCF?

A

MCFs are required for the purpose of validating performance when:

a. Comprehensive testing of a flight safety critical item that has been replaced, adjusted or maintained and a complete system check cannot be accomplished on the ground, either by the use of test equipment or ground operation of the equipment.

b. The function requiring testing directly affects either the flying characteristics of the aircraft or the performance of mission critical systems.

c. MPTF? A maintenance work outside of MCF requirement and requires a specific test under flight conditions.

17
Q

What is Ground Run (GR)?

A

Ground running of aircraft is utilised as a maintenance tool to ensure system serviceability and to troubleshoot system faults.

18
Q

What are the safety requirement of GR and MCF?

A

a. All tradespersons are to be briefed and supervised using PBED.
b. Foreign object control practices are to be adhered.
c. GSE not be left unattended in the vicinity of an operating aircraft.
D. GR marshaller is to be in constant communication with the pilot/operator at all times
e. All personnel have to wear appropriate PPE and aware of exhaust areas, radiation areas, rotating components and noise emission danger areas.

19
Q

Who can perform APU ground run?

A

Qualified, assessed and authorised personnel either technician or operators.

20
Q

What are the profiles of FCFs?

A

A profile - Full systems check
B profile - Engine check
C profile - Controllability/drive train check
D profile - AFCS check

21
Q

What is limited FCF?

A

It is required when it is necessary to prove proper functioning of a specific item or component. Duration of the FCF need only be enough to verify performance of the items being tested.

22
Q

What are the fundamental requirements of DASF?

A

-The appointment of a Defence Aviation Authority (CAF)
- Establishment of a DASA
- Implementation of a Defence Aviation Safety Program
- Promulgation of effective Defence Aviation Regulations to guide the requirements of the aviation community
- Establishment of an independent accident and incident investigative capability

23
Q

what is the purpose of DASP?

A

Purpose is to assure adequate levels of safety whilst allowing operational commanders to exploit capability to the maximum possible extent.

24
Q

What are the key objectives of the DASP?

A
  1. Prescribing safety policy and regulation for Defence Aviation
  2. Promoting Defence Aviation safety through education and, training and dissemination of safety aviation
  3. Establishing and certifying the initial safety requirements and standards for Defence Aviation organisations and aviation platforms/systems
  4. Oversight and enforcement of the ongoing certification of Defence Aviation organisations and aviation platforms/systems
  5. The investigation of accidents and incidents in order to prevent recurrence and improve safety performance.
25
Q

What is assure vs ensure?

A

Assure
To do everything that you can to make certain something happens or to remove someone’s doubts

Ensure
Make sure it happens or guarantee it.
