Conditions to Develop life on a planet(Oct.20) Flashcards
What are all 6 conditions to a development of life on a planet?
- Habitable zone
- Circular Orbit
- An atmosphere
- The ideal mass
- Water
- A Lithosphere
What is a habitable zone?
In order for life to develop, a planet must orbit a star at a particular distance.
What is important about the Circular Orbit?
The shape of the planet’s orbit determines the quantity of energy they receive will change, thus influencing the temperature.
Why is the atmosphere important?
A planet’s atmosphere must be able to protect the life forms from the dangerous solar radiation. It also needs to be able allow the water cycle to take place.
What is the Ideal mass?
The mass determines the strength of a planet’s gravity. A large planet can make the gravitational field too strong, where as a smaller planet will not have a strong enough gravitational field.
Water.
Explain :)
Water is essential for a planet because it is for the development of the first molecules that lead to the start of life.
Why is the lithosphere important?
A planet needs a solid surface for simples molecules to form into more complex ones.
