CONDENSATE AND CONDENSER Flashcards
State the function of the Condensate System.
In conjunction with the Main Feedwater System, the Condensate System provides de-aerated water to the Steam Generators for Reactor Coolant System heat removal and secondary plant steam production in sufficient quantities for all normal conditions.
State the purpose of the Condenser
Condenses the steam exhausted from the Low Pressure Turbines and Steam Bypass Valves
Collects water from various sources for re-use in the secondary systems
State the purpose of the Low Pressure Feedwater Heaters
Provides preheating of Condensate water stream to raise cycle efficiency and reduce thermal shock to the Steam Generators.
Identify the normal Condensate System flowpath.
Starts from the Condenser Hotwells,
through (two) Condensate Pumps,
through the Steam Jet Air Ejector (SJAE) and Gland Steam Condensers,
through the tube side of Low Pressure Feedwater Heaters 1A & B-3A & B
through the tube side of the A & B Drain Coolers,
through the tube side of Low Pressure Feedwater Heaters 4A & B to the Main Feedwater Pumps
