Q

explain the process of mutual induction

A
  • When AC is applied to the primary winding of the x-ray transformer, it creates a changing magnetic field around the primary coil
  • This changing magnetic field induces an alternating electromotive force in the primary windings
  • The changing magnetic field generated by the primary windings cuts across the secondary winding
  • According to Faraday’s law of electromagnetic induction, this changing magnetic field induces an EMF in secondary winding.
  • The induced EMF in the secondary winding causes an alternating current flow through the secondary circuit
