What is not recorded on the battalion recorder
Messages to and from borough dispatcher
In order to record what must the battalion vehicles be done
Must remain running to record
Regardless of order of arrival at operations
Upon return to quarters the battalion vehicle shall
Be turned off
The recorder system will remain on for 25 minute max
The recorder will automatically turn off upon completion
Battalion vehicle with shore power upon return to quarters must be
Plugged in
The operational system test for the battalion recorder
Done at the start of every tour
Done when apparatus placed back in service
When the battalion vehicle is returned to service what needs to be done
Functional test of the system needs to be done
This can be done at the same time notification is made to Starfire to register the MDT terminal
How to test the battalion recorder
Start apparatus
Depress HT when “system ready” is displayed
Transmission should register on LCD screen
Receiver number will light up with channel
“R” will appear next to number indicating it is recording
When a battalion vehicle is placed out of service
BC shall notify AAT by phone or email
