When an operating Marine Company requires the assistance of land based personnel the dispatcher shall special call an
Engine Company to respond to a pick up site selected by the Marine Company Officer. The Engine selected by the dispatcher shall respond to the pick up site where the officer and all members (except the ECC) will be used to supplement the fire boat personnel. The ECC will remain at the pick up site, unless ordered otherwise, and monitor the radio. If necessary, the Dispatcher shall direct the ECC to respond to an alternate location to pick up returning members

Requires the dispatch of one Engine to all electromechanical boxes

Requires the dispatch of 2 Engines, 1 Ladder, 1 BC to all reported incidents requiring a structural response (telephone or ERS). If information received indicates the need for a greater response, the dispatcher may send a full 1st alarm assignment

Engine, Ladder, Marine, Rescue and Squad companies receiving a verbal alarm while at quarters shall notify the dispatcher using the
Verbal button on the PC/ATS. Units shall not await teleprinter confirmation before responding. Verbal alarms received at quarters where only a special unit is in service shall be immediately telephoned to the dispatcher

Response policy guidelines for Understaffed Units
When a company is responding understaffed (less than 4 FF’S) the dispatcher shall
Special call another unit (Engine for Engine, Ladder for Ladder) to respond in addition to the understaffed unit. Under this response policy the total 1st alarm shall not exceed a total response of
