- 3rd alarm or greater
- 10-60
- 10-66
- 10-76
- 10-77 AND more than one sector is established
- Complex operations as determined by the IC
The Bureau of Operations mandates that Command Channel drills be held
- Semi annually (May/Nov)
- At all 2nd alarms
- At all large scale drills and discussed at division conferences
Who prepares the use of the Command Channel
- Deputy Chief on his arrival
* DC shall ensure Post Radio is activated at the ICP on channel 2
Who conducts a roll call on the Command Channel to ensure compliance
- RUL
* If RUL has not arrived then the IC shall order the division or battalion FF to conduct the roll call

- The letter designation of the stairwell being used for ventilation and smoke removal operations
- The attack stair designation on the HT and/or Post radio
- The attack stair designation via the Dept radio to the borough dispatcher
The Fire Sector supervisor would be operating correctly in the following procedures
- Before deploying to the Fire Sector he ensured the Fire Sector had a Post Radio
- Make sure proper labeling has been verified if scissor stairs are present, and that the fire floor evacuation stair door is being maintained closed
- Make sure 1st hose line is in operation before a 2nd hose line is started
- Control ventilation when needed or as ordered by the IC
