Where are Stress fractures most likely to occur?
A
Often in second and third metatarsals in the foot because they are thinner. They are also common in heel, fibula, tali’s, and navicular (bone on top of ankle)

Causes of stress fractures
A
- overuse
- sudden increase in exercise (intensity, duration)
- bone insufficiency (osteoperosis, decrease bone strength)
- poor conditioning (doing too much to soon, no recover time)
- improper technique (alter way foot hits ground-blister)
- change In surface (change in training)
- improper equipment (not supportive shoes)

Non surgical R-rest I-ice C-compression E-elevation
Surgical Internal fixation (pins and screws to hold in place)

A
Small piece of bone is broken off of pinky toe by tendon, often because of ankle roll

A
Occurs in pinky toe, hairline fracture caused by overuse and relative stress and trauma
