Describe the AN-/SPS-49
Long range 2-D air search radar, frequency range 851 to 942 MHz. The minimum range is approximately 500 yds to a maximum range of approximately 250 nautical miles.
Describe the AN/SPS-48
Long range 3-D air search radar, frequency range 2939 to 3058 MHz. The minimum range is approximately 5,000 yds to a maximum range of approximately 220 nautical miles.
Describe the AN/SPS-67
Medium range surface search radar, frequency range 5450 to 5825 mhz. The minimum range is approximately 75 yd to a maximum range of approximately 60 nautical miles.
Describe the AN/SPN-43
Carrier-controlled approach search radar, frequency range 3590 to 3,700 MHz. The minimum range is approximately 250 yd to a maximum range of approximately 50 nautical miles. This is the primary shipboard Air traffic control surveillance radar and is used to Marshall aircraft.
Describe AN/SPQ-9B
Range of 80 to 100 nautical miles. This is the primary targeting radar used for RNSSMS and RAM. Located on mast, just below upper yard arm, the antenna has a distinctive popsicle shape.
