What is V-1 responsible for?
For the Handling of all aircraft on the flight deck.
What do V-1 divisions duties entail?
Spotting, directing, and operating aircraft-handling equipment such as tractors and cranes.
What is V-2 responsible for?
Catapults, Arresting gear and Visual Landing Aids (VLA)
What is the Catapult crew responsible for?
The operation and maintenance of all catapult machinery.
What is the Arresting Gear crew responsible for?
The operation and maintenance of the arresting gear and barricade equipment.
What is V-3 responsible for?
The Handling of all aircraft in the Hangar Deck, the operation of aircraft elevators, and the operation of hangar bar divisional doors.
What is V-4 responsible for?
The operation and upkeep of carrier aviation fuel and lube oil transfer systems.
What are V-4’s primary duties?
They service embarked aircraft with clean, uncontaminted fuel, and replenish the ship’s supply of aviation fuel and lube oil.
What personnel does V-5 division consist of?
Air Admin and Tower Personnel
What is V-5 division responsible for?
The communication with aircraft during launch, recovery and tower communcation; as well as all of the administrative duties within the department.
