Indications
Increase the production of neutrophils in the bone marrow with little effect on other hematopoietic cells

MOA
Can be used to reduce the incidence of infection with bone marrow suppression, decrease neutropenia associated with bone marrow transplants and chemotherapy and helps in treatment of blood related cancers

- renal or hepatic dz
- preg/lact
- radiation/chemotherapy

- Assess for contraindications and allergies
- Hx of renal/liver/cardiac dz
- Obtain a baseline EKG
- Assess skin lesions, weight, monitor temp, heart rate, rhythm, BP, orientation and reflexes. yu

- Acute pain r/t CNS, GI and flu like sx
- Imbalanced nutrition: Less than body requirements
- Anxiety

Implementation
- Lab tests before and during
- instruct for proper admin, oral or injections
- Advise female pts to use barrier contraceptives
