Decreases as age increases.
Young people are very sociable and have an underdeveloped immune system.
Old people have gained immunity to many viruses from antibodies.

Pain and Fever reducer.
Decongestants
Antihistamines (allergic rxns and swelling)
Antitussive (stops dry cough)
Expectorant (thins the mucus)
Decongestants for colds
pseudophredrine -> controversial because it can be isolated into meth easily.
Work by being vasoconstrictors
Antihistamines for colds
Treats runny nose, sneezing, and water eyes.
Causes drowsiness but can also reduce nausea.
Most common for colds is Chlorpheniramine.
Anti-tussives for colds
Best one is dextromothropan.
Suppresses cough reflex.
Expectorant for colds
Treats a productive cough.
Most common is Guaifenesin.
Vitamin C and colds
Has no effect.
