Q

For specific reflexes, discuss the oculocardiac reflex and the cushing reflex

A

oculoccardiac reflex:
- pressure./traction on the eyball = bradyarrythmia
- Treatment: ATROPINE

CUSHING reflex:
- increase ICP
- arterial hypertension, with compensatory bradycardia and respiratory irregulairty
- Treatment: Mannitol or Hypoertonic saline

Q

When considering body temperature, dicuss hypothermia

A

Hypoethermia:
decreased oxygern consumption\
causes peripheral vasoconstriction
compromise immune fucniton
complicated in the shock patient:
- impaired platelt function
- prolonged bleeding time

  • ## decreased anesthetic requirement
