Diet
Low levels if zinc, vit C and E, lutein and zeaxanthin
Types of anti oxidants 3
- Vitamins
- Caroteinoids
- Antioxidants cofactors - zinc and selenium
What benefit is there in taking
Lutein and zeaxanthin?
They are 2 major carotenoid pigments in human macular and retina
10% benefit from use
Antioxidant cofactors, ZINC:
Drug interactions
Zinc may affect absorption of quinolones and tetracycline antibiotics (take 2 hrs apart)
Mail-order reduces zinc excretion == accumulation
