Procedure for direct visual inspection of colon (anus to cecum). Endoscopic tube is introduced from anus > anal canal > rectum > colon - cecum
For diagnosis of mucosal polyps, large bowel cancer, ulcerative colitis, and Crohn’s disease

Similar to colonoscopy (from anus to descending colon)
