Q

What is the relationship between weight and lift in a climb?

A

Weight made up of two components (like vectors) - PCW and RCW , therefore lift=PCW - therefore weight is greater than lift.

8
Q

How does altitude affect a climb?

A

In low density environment - e.g. when hot or high alt - max thrust will reduce, therefore High density = better performance

9
Q

How do flaps work during a climb?

A

○ Lift and drag increase when flaps extend
○ Drag increases more
○ Decreases performance
○ Down during take-off
○ Up during landing - for high lift and high drag
