Zhu Ye Shi Gao Tang ***
Lophatherus and Gypsum decoction
Dan Zhu Ye, Shi Gao; Ren Shen, Mai Men Dong; Ban Xia, Jing Mi; Zhi Gan Cao
For febrile Dz w/lingering Qi level heat in LU-ST, w/injury to Qi and fluids. Associated with fluid damage from sweating from Dz or summerheat
Qing Ying Tang ***
Clear the Nutritive Level Decoction
Xi Jiao (or Shui Niu Jiao); Xuan Shen, Sheng Di Huang, Mai Men Dong; Jin Yin Hua, Lian Qiao, Huang Lian; Dan Zhu Ye, Dan Shen.
For warm febrile Dz when strong heat enters Ying level.
Clears ying level heat, relieves fire toxicity, drains heat, and nourishes yin.
NOT w/dampness (greasy tongue coat or slippery pulse)
Xi Jiao Di Huang Tang ***
Rhinoceros horn and rehmannia decoction
Xi Jiao (or Shui Niu Jiao); Sheng Di Huang; Shao Yao (Chi Shao), Mu Dan Pi
For febrile Dz when a strong heat enters the blood level.
Clears heat, relies fire toxicity, cools the blood, nourishes yin, dispels blood stasis, stops bleeding.
NOT for bleeding from Xu.
Huang Lian Jie Du Tang ***
Coptic decoction to relieve toxicity
Huang Lian; Huang Qin; Huang Bai, Shan Zhi Zi.
For excessive fire toxin obstructing the 3 burners. Drains fire, relieves toxicity.
NOT w/weak constitution, long term, SP/ST Xu, yin Xu
Xie Xin Tang **
Drain the epigastrium decoction
Da Huang; Huang Lian, Huang Qin.
For damp-heat excess with interior clumping pattern (D/t deficient HT Qi not descending in HT-LU). Drains fire, resolves toxicity, and dries dampness.
Pu Ji Xiao Du Yin ***
Universal Benefit Drink to Eliminate Toxin
Huang Qin, Huang Lian; Niu Bang Zi, Lian Qiao, Bo He, Bai Jiang Can; Xuan Shen, Ma Bo, Ban Lan Gen, Gan Cao; Chen Pi; Chai Hu, Sheng Ma.
For acute, massive febrile d/o of the head. Clears heat, eliminates fire toxin, and disperses wind-heat.
Bai Hu Tang ***
White Tiger Decoction
Shi Gao; Zhi Mu; Jing Mi; Zhi Gan Cao
For heat in YangMing or Qi level
Clears heat, drains ST Fire, generates fluids, alleviates thirst. For 4 bigs.
NOT w/fever from Xu, true cold-false heat, exterior syndromes
Ma Xing Shi Gan Tang ***
Ephedra, Apricot Kernal, Gypsum, and Licorice Decoction
Ma Huang, Shi Gao; Xing Ren, Zhi Gan Cao.
For cough and wheeze d/t heat lodged in the LU. Facilitates flow of LU Qi, clears heat, calms wheezing by directing rebellious LU Qi downward.
NOT w/wheezing d/t Xu, or with Wind cold alone
Xie Bai San ***
Drain the White Powder
Sang Bai Pi; Di Gu Pi; Zhi Gan Cao, Jing Mi.
For lurking fire in the LU. Drains heat from the LU, calms wheezing.
Qing Wei San ***
Clear the Stomach Powder
Huang Lian; Sheng Ma; Mu Dan Pi, Sheng Di Huang, Dang Gui.
For toothaches and gum disease d/t heat accumulation in ST and YangMing channels. Drains ST fire, cools blood, and nourishes yin.
NOT when toothache isn’t from ST fire.
Yu Nu Jian ***
Jade Woman Decoction
Shi Gao, Shu Di Huang; Zhi Mu, Mai Men Dong; Niu Xi.
For ST heat with KD yin Xu, YangMing channel heat excess with shaoyin channel yin Xu. Drains heat from ST and nourishes yin.
NOT w/diarrhea or loose stools
Dao Chi San ***
Guide Out the Red Powder
Sheng Di Huang; Mu Tong; Dan Zhu Ye; Gan Cao Shao.
For heat in the HT and SI channels. Clears the HT and promotes urination.
NOT w/SP or ST Xu
Long Dan Xie Gan Tang ***
Gentian Decoction to Drain the Liver

For excessive fire in the LV and GB, also for damp-heat in the LV and GB channels or lower Jiao.

Zuo Jin Wan ***

For LV and ST disharmony d/t LV channel heat attacking the ST. Clears LV heat, directs rebellious Qi downward, and stops vomiting.
NOT w/ Xu or cold.
Shao Yao Tang ***
Peony Decoction
Huang Lian, Huang Qin; Da Huang, Bai Shao, Dang Gui; Rou Gui, Mu Xiang, Bing Lang; Gan Cao.
For damp-heat dysentery can disorder. Regulates and Harmonizes the Qi and blood, clears heat, dries dampness, and resolves toxicity.
Bai Tou Weng Tang ***

Qing Hao Bie Jia Tang ***
Artemisia annua and soft shelled turtle shell Decoction
Bie Jia, Qing Hao; Sheng Di Huang, Zhi Mu; Mu Dan Pi.
For later stages of warm febrile dz or yin Xu w/lingering heat. Nourishes yin and vents heat.
NOT w/Wei or Qi level heat, spasms or convulsions
Qing Gu San ***
Cool the Bones Powder
Yin Chai Hu; Zhi Mu, Hu Huang Lian, Di Gu Pi; QIng Hao, Qin Jiao; Bie Jia; Gan Cao.
For steaming bone disorder or deficiency consumption d/o. Clears heat from deficiency and alleviates steaming bone d/o.
Dang Gui Liu Huang Tang ***
Tangkuei and six-yellow Decoction
Dang Gui, Sheng Di Huang, Shu Di Huang; Huang Lian, Huang Qin, Huang Bai; Huang Qi.
For night sweats d/t raging fire from yin deficiency. Enriches yin, drains fire, stabilizes the exterior, and stops sweating.
