Recruitment
a set of activities and processes used to obtain a sufficient pool of qualified people so that the organization can select the most appropriate people to fill its needs
Objectives of Recruitment (STOC your workforce with good talent)
STRATEGIC - link candidate to organization’s long term goals
TECHNICAL - skills, credentials related to job performance
OPERATIONAL - link candidate to immediate needs of department, team
CULTURAL - fit with the culture and values of organization
What is “FIT”?
Assessing a candidate for fit is a fine goal; it can allow you to determine if the candidate’s preferences, style, and values align with those of the organization, and if they will adapt well, feel they belong, thrive, and enhance the organization
However, you must be able to:
- Clearly define organization culture & goals
- Define what attributes, traits & characteristics align with the culture & goals (or enhance them)
- Reliably determine if a candidate possesses those specific attributes
- Check the process for biases
