Generals McCLellan, and Robert e Lee…confederate thought they could play offense but they withdrew and union did not go after them so Lincoln fired McClellan. Was the bloodiest day in american history.
Battle of Wilson’s Creek -
also known as the Battle of Oak Hills, was the first major battle of the Trans-Mississippi Theater of the American Civil War. General Nathaniel Lyon was leader for union. McCulloch was leader of Confederate. There was no clear winner.

Emancipation Proclamation would free all the slaves in Confederate states still in rebellion against the United States.
