What is civics
Civics is the study of the rights and duties of the citizens
What is a citizen
An individual with certain rights and duties under a government who by birth or by choice always allegiance to that government allegiance equals loyalty

How do you become a citizen
The means of obtaining citizenship are by first born in the US are born to parents who are or who are citizens or naturalization the legal process of becoming a citizen
What are the requirements for becoming a US citizen
For naturalization you have to be at least 18 years old, be a legal resident of the United States for three years if you’re married to a US citizen or five years if you’re not, be of good moral character and be loyal to the United States, be able to read write and speak basic English in less you have exceptions, passing naturalization test in American history, and take the oath of allegiance out of naturalization ceremony
What is important for citizenship
A democratic society requires the active participation of its citizens, immigration and naturalization particularly in the 20th century have led to a diverse society
