What is Dactylitis?
A
“Hand foot syndrome”. Pain and soft tissue swelling of the dorm of the hands and feet secondary to hematopoiesis in the small bones of the hands and feet.
Develops suddenly, usually between the age of 6 months and 3 years.

Vaso-occlusion in the spleen secondary to Sickle cells.
Elevated reticulocytes count.
Rapidly enlarged spleen.
