Two refs for worship
- ‘where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.’
- In the Bible, it says how the Holy Spirit filled the apostles with various powers at Pentecost.
Three refs for Sacraments
- ‘Baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.’
- In the Bible, Jesus was baptised as an adult, by John the Baptist.
- ‘This is my body’, and ‘do this in remembrance of me’.
One ref for Prayer
= Jesus taught his followers to pray modestly and in private, and to say, ‘Our father, who is in heaven…
One ref for pilgrimage
In the Bible, Jesus told his followers to gather together to worship, and that God was with them when they gathered together.
Two refs for Celebrations
-In the Bible, it says that Jesus was born miraculously by the power of God (Holy Spirit), and that Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to him.
-In the Bible, it says that Jesus was resurrected from the dead three days after his crucifixion. His followers found an empty tomb, and then he appeared to them at various times for 40 days until the Ascension.
Three refs for food banks and street pastors
- ‘I was hungry and you gave me something to eat’ (parable of sheep and goats)
- ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’ (Golden rule)
- ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’
One ref for evangelism and mission
- ‘go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.’
Two refs for reconciliation
- In the Bible, Jesus taught that we should be reconciled with people before we worship God, as well as instead of taking someone to court.
- In the Bible, Jesus dies on the cross. This is the Atonement and makes it possible for humanity to be reconciled with God.
One ref for persecution
- ‘Love your enemies’
Three refs for charity
