What do They believe about the incarnation of Jesus?

- Christians believe that the Virgin Mary had a miraculous baby
- Christians believe that Jesus was both fully God and fully man
- Christians believe that when God came to earth in human form he was showing that he loves the world and everyone in it
- Christians use the life and teachings of Jesus as an example of how they should live

What do they believe about the Crucifixion of Jesus?
A
- Before the crucifixion, they had the last supper in which Jesus handed out bread and wine’
- He told his disciples to ‘do this in remembrance of me’
- On the cross jesus declared forgiveness to all those who put him there

A
- He forgave those who wronged him, ‘Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing’
- When Jesus was suffering he shouted,
‘My God, my God, why have you forsaken me’

What does the crucifixion mean to Christians?
A
- Because of the crucifixion God understands suffering
- That they should forgive everyone no matter what has been done to them
- Without Jesus’ death, human beings could not be reunited with God and could not enter heaven
- Jesus’ sacrificial death would atone that separation

What do Christians believe about the Resurrection?
A
- After Jesus was crucified he was put in a tomb. Christians believe that the tomb was then empty because Jesus was resurrected
- Without the resurrection, Christianity may never have grown to what it is now

What does the Resurrection mean to Christians?
A
- It depends on the Christian. Literalist Christians believe the bible account should be taken literally. Liberal Christians believe that the resurrection was spiritual and not physical
- The resurrection is important because it shows there is life after death
- Christians believe that by accepting Jesus, they can also be resurrected in some way. They need not fear death
- It offers further proof that Jesus is the Son of God and strengthens faith for Christians

- Christians believe that 40 days after the resurrection Jesus ascended to heaven

What does the ascension mean to Christians?
A
- Christians believe that the ascension shows the power of Jesus, the Son of God as part of the Holy Trinity
- The Ascension is important to Christians as it offers proof that Jesus not only overcame death but that he is alive and with God the Father in heaven
