The Genesis.
How do we know that the Trinity was active from the beginning of Creation?
1) God, The Father, designed and created the Earth.
2) Genesis tells us that the Holy Spirit was active in the creation.
3) John tells us that the Word, God the son or Jesus was active in the Creation.
When the bible refers to The Word, who does this mean?
Jesus
Describe using a quote, how John told the Creation story
‘In the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God, and the Word was God.’
Describe, using a quote, how the creation story is told in Genesis ( referencing the Holy Spirit)
‘Now the Earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the spirit of God was hovering over the waters.’
What is the Incarnation?
Becoming flesh and taking human form.
How does the Incarnation relate to the Trinity?
Jesus was the Son of God who was incarnated from God.
How did “The Word become flesh.” ?
Use Bible stories to explain how the incarnation occurred.
Angels appeared to Mary and Joseph explaining that their baby would be special. The gospels state that Mary conceived Jesus without having sex. Because it was a virgin birth, Christians believe that this is proof that she was pregnant through the Holy Spirit.
So this was the incarnation and God showed himself as a human being (Jesus).
How does the incarnation help to explain Jesus’ miracles and resurrection?
Jesus was fully God and fully human, therefore, would be able to perform miracles that humans couldn’t.
How does the incarnation increase Jesus’ authority?
His words, deeds and promises have great authority because they are the words of God.
What did the Jews expect The Messiah would do?
Save Israel and establish an age of peace.
