New Testament
The 27 books of the Bible written by the sacred authors in apostolic times, which have Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God- His life, teachings, Passion, and glorification, and the beginnings of His Church- as their central theme
Gospel
~ Apostles, and the Church following them, are to proclaim to the entire world
Evangelist
One who works actively to spread and promot the Christian faith
Apostle
A term meaning one who is sent as Jesus was sent by the Father, and as He sent His chosen disciples to preach the Gospel to the whole world. 12 chosen witnesses of His Resurrection and the foundation on which the Church is built
Disciple
Deposition of will to do promptly what concerns the worship and service of God; ultimately rooted in great love for God (aka. Charity)

Audience: Gentile Christians undergoing persecution (possibly in Rome)

Author: (possibly) a Jewish Scribe
Audience: Jewish Christians
Jesus is: A teacher, The new La Giver
Message: Jesus came to fulfill the Law and the prophets
Luke
Author: A Gentile Christian, a doctor, companion of Paul, artist
Audience: Gentile Christians
Jesus is: A healer, gentle, the universal Savior
Message: Salvation is for ALL people
John
Author: “The Beloved Disciple”, traditionally, John the Apostle
Audience: Those that already know the Gospel and want to know more
Jesus is: The WORD made flesh; I AM
Message: John 3:16
Acts of the Apostles

~ An orderly account of the spread of Christianity among the Gentiles, the conversion of the three thousand at Pentecost, and the Holy Spirit’s work in spreading the Church through the preaching of Peter and Paul and the miracles they worked, as well as the first Church council
