what is Sexual Dimorphism?
the systematic difference in form between individuals of different sex in the same species
What does it mean to Habituate?
When a primate is Exposed to the same stimuli then stop responding to that stimuli
What is Polygynous?
A social group that includes 1 adult male and 7 females +offspring
What is Polyandrous?
a social group that includes 1 reproductively active female, 7 adult males + offspring
What is Monogamous?
a social group that includes an adult male +adult female + their offspring
What is Sexual selection?
Frequency of traits that change due to those traits attractiveness to members of the opposite sex i.e. tails, dances, sperm packets
What is Infantcide?
Killing of a juvenile
What is Dominance in the primate aspect?
Ability to intimidate or defeat another individual
What is Altruistic behavior?
Behavior that benefits others while being a disadvantage to the individual i.e traveling with a group, grooming unrelated individual
What is Kin selection?
Altruistic behaviors that increase the evolutionary success of the group i.e. food sharing
What is Ethnoprimatology?
New study of ecological and cultural interaction between humans and primates
What is Affixation?
small unit is added at either prefix or suffix apart of the word stem
