How do you treat cholera?
A
Oral Rehydration/IV until body can kick the microorganism out. Azithromycin (antibiotic) may helps this.

What does the Cholera Toxin do?
A
Stimulates cAMP which then causes chloride secretion through the CFTR. Na and H2O follow

After the cholera toxin binds to the GM1 receptor on the cell’s membrane, what happens next?
A
The A subunit is cleaved, endocytosed, and cAMP is produced
