CHIROPRACTIC
method wherein the supercial soft parts of the
body are rubbed, stroked, kneaded, or tapped for
remedial, aesthetic, hygienic, or limited therapeutic
purposes.
MASSAGE
● use of food as medicine and to improve health by
enhancing the nutritional value of food
NUTRITIONAL THERAPY
holistic approach of healing that follows the
principle of balancing energy.
PRANIC HEALING
● application of the therapeutic pressure on the
body’s reex points to enhance the body’s natural
healing mechanisms and balance body functions.
REFLEXOLOGY
● Prepared by boiling the medicinal plants in water.
● Proportion – 5g:100mL or 3 handfuls of fresh plant
material for every 2 cups of water.
DECOCTION
● Similar to decoctions but instead of boiling,
previously boiled water is poured over the plant
material.
● Mixture is allowed to stand for 15-30 min.
● Preferred method for aromatic plants
INFUSION
● Prepared by adding sugar to a prepared decoction
● Proportion - 1 part of the decoction:1 part of sugar
● Boil in moderate heat until solution becomes
sticky
SYRUP
● Prepared by boiling the plant material in oil and
wax (candle).
● Proportion – 1:1 for the plant material and oil, ½
part of the wax
● The mixture is strained after heating it for 3-5 min.
OINTMENT
● Prepared by drying nely chopped plant material
and then grounded into powder.
● Can be done by boiling the juice of plants with
sugar until this dries up
POWDERS
● Fresh plants, especially leaves are applied directly
over the skin.
● Starch can be added to the crushed plant material
or by using oil.
POULTICE AND CATAPLASM
● Prepared by boiling mixture of oil and plant
materials
● Proportion - 1 part of crushed or chopped plant
materials (fresh or dry): 1 part of coconut or
cooking oil
