A
  • pyogenic meningitis
  • anaerobic infection caused by bacterial fragilis(wound infection, intraabdominal infection, pelvic abscess, brain abscess)
  • intraocular infection(endophthalmitis)
    second line of drug to tetracycline in treatment of brucellosis, rickettsial infection

  • bone marrow depression (aplastic anemia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia, pancytopenia)
  • hypersensitivity reaction- rashes, fever and atrophic glossitis
  • n/v, diarrhea, pain at injection site
  • superinfection
  • gray baby syndrome
