CHD Flashcards

Q
How do mouse model inactivation studies show CHD is implicated in brain development
A
1)CHD proteins Chd3,Chd4,Chd5 display differential expression that is critical for the function and NuRD chromatin remodelling complexes during cortical development.
2)Deleting Chd4 resulted in microcephaly and defects in cortical lamination which are not seen in Chd3 or Chd5 mutants which are expressed in a later developmental stage than Chd4. They were required for the migration of newborn neurons.(Nitarska et al)
3)Mutations in CHD2,3 and 7 are associated with NDDs (Fahrenheit and Bjorssen, Keefstra et al) but CHD3,4 and5 remain to be implicated in ID
