What are the impacts on health and wellbeing

A

Most common impact is angina – constant pain in the chest – this can be relieved with medication or sprays

Heart attack – is possible to recover if treated straight away- can lead a normal life

Bypass surgery can be offered to those at high risk

Rehabilitation – exercise, life style choices, relaxation and emotional support

Can lead to people having to take medication for the rest of their life- warfarin (thins blood) which may have side effects.
