XBT in a FIB channel actually (fig2)
he said tricky to draw: but what he did: from low to the low at the bottom and than to the top
it the Up trendline, always rejected (wicked out, but never closed above) when it went F786 > entered

three big rejection candles on the right side from the top trendline on 4H (like before on the left twice, the second almost like a fractal (just in this case on the right we have HHs (listen again..)
GP: RES SUP throughout >> find all those points: valid for weeks
the GP showed confluence with the HOR RES red line
from the GP he targets the highs (for a sort term trade) because it is not a long term position the target is the top range >> we do not need to wait for the breakout from the top upwards

Q

Pre-place buys or wait for the alerts?

CLStr_5.5.19

A

50-50% depends on the chart
in this case where he is showing: you buy at GP when it drops: touch and bounces back, you see the candle hold when closes > buy the next candle (manually, no pre setup for buy)
catching the falling knife down is dangerous, but more reward if works out or wait untill bounce backp up with a pre-set buy..

On the fig we see how to buy back from the GP (double yellow line)in an upward parallel channel. What else is going on here?

CLStr_5.5.19

A

You can see a HOR parallel channel too, with a bit of deviation down. There is a breakout down in the middle > but comes back up to the top >> from there going back down to the bottom: you can try to wait for reaching the top again (pin-pong)

and it’s confluence with the blue line (F786 of paalell Fib channel) see fig3

the whole pattern contains HHs HLs >> bullish

Confluence
HOR SUP combined with FIB sup
or pattern SUP
(in this example on the fig the SUP was massive, because it was a RES prior to a massive breakdown, without that HOR SUP just with th bottom upwards trendline it would have bee poor)
the pattern has to be strong too, on the fig2: it is not an ascending triangle -too much space on the top >> you would not take that trade in case if the side was touched

ZRX chart of the week Chart pattern considerations

A

The PARTIAL Rise pattern
in any pattern price action up&down from top to bottom > at a point lower high (no rise back to the top)
it can be in any pattern, in broadening wedge any, here in the parallel channel
similarly partial decline can also develop in a pattern
Partial rise >> weakness > broke down out of the channel but lower Sup held
price went up to the target and a bit more wick >> closed on the wick, immadiatelly came back down

Q

What is complex pullback pattern? How to handle?

ChartChamp LStr_12.5.19

A

When in a general trend >> pullbacks
the pullbacks come back to the previous high but not lower > simple pullback; when comes back lower >> complex pullback
Need to hold the previous low level (see fig red lines)
when the pullback is lower than the previous high > people think game over based on EWs
when W4 retraces deeper than W1

Impulse down from A to B (any size)
base harmonics only work on 4H+ TFs (1H is short for it)
A to B impulse > take a retracement to C (has to be between F0.618 or F0.786: measured from AB) in real life the values can looser a bit 0.5-1% dufference if fine (belloF618 and above F786
the target is D
<< 1.618F extension of C (if C was 0.618F ext of AB)
<< 1.272F extension of C (if C was 0.786F ext of AB) (from the bottom B towards C)
A to B is similar to C to D (some level of symmetry needed AB = CD more or less; faint pink shows it)

these patterns have bullish/bearish variations (in this example this an ABCD for a bullish pattern

Look for confluence: HOR
in the example on fig: confluence between the F1.618 extension and 1 to 1 ext (AB=CD) some say its actually a requirenment, I realized, that the reason: 1/0.618=1.618;
>> same zone
strong HOR Sup region red box
swing high-low GP coincides with the F1.618ext
D: long position >> target is FIB from A to D >> F0.618, F0.382

on the example: cnfluence red box
getting up to F1.618 might be quite hard due to prior strong RES (2nd red box) >> that is why textbook suggests not to long, but wait to reach there >> short rather from D

Pump and run pattern
downtrendline > descending triangle breaks to the downside
phase in stage (triangle) > downturn > Adam&Eve (almost double bottom, but a bit off) and ascending triangle > breaks to the upside
descending to downside, ascending to the upside
you go Long when it breaks the downwards Res line (he was in short at that time (apr 02) > switch to long uphill run phase

Q

What to pay attention on this chart?

ChartChamp LStr_12.5.19

A

Impulsive wave up to the top from the bottom > retracement to F618 (red line down) coinciding with former RES on the left > healthy bounce back >> Long for a bounce
not necessarily new high though >> if bounces watch F786 F618 on the way back up >> if it stops there > can come down deep (like and ABCD)
look on the ZRX chart

Q

How to handle the toping like situation?

ChartChamp LStr_12.5.19

A

If we go down >> F382 might be a possible bounce
if go deeper > F618 (HOR SUP zone can be) > another potential bounce
if more down > goes back to the consolidation zone (from where we started to draw FIB (1) point
draw another FIB from swing low to swing high >consolidation zone is on F618
this move down can be W4

Q

What is the next target if we break higher ?

ChartChamp LStr_12.5.19

A

Top of the wave left $8.5k
parabolic move up not sustainable, but we need to look preparef or bullish scenarios as well
untill we break the higher low pattern > bullish trend (we want to hold this structure for bull trend)
he is long (on BTC on spots and ALTs, but holding short position too to hedge the longs in case sg happens)

ChartChamp cheat sheets

A

The 5-3-5-3-5 subways of an impulse normally find SUP/RES from prior subwave HOR levels
eg: old subW3 high in W1 > RES for B of W2 and for subW1 of W3
subW3 of W3 > SUP for A of subW4 and for subW2 of W5
