• Flag was the British Union Jack, in 1965 it was changes to the current maple leaf flag
• Anthem: O Canada. Before it was God save the queen
• National Animal is the Beaver- hardworking, loyal, early for trade
• Police force: NWMP/RCMP
• Sport: hockey, lacrosse

Canada is a “young” country- gained its independence in 1867.
Canada is almost 100 years younger than the USA and much younger than many European countries so we do not have the experiences or extensive history that older nations do
