Teachers give more attention to boys than girls and boys are praised when they do something right or speak out without raising their hands, girls are usually rewarded for being quiet and compliant
Peers
Kids are direct when they don’t like someone or something - they help to reinforce what’s important or not

Career and family part of their identity for girls and not boys

Middle school to high school girls change in interest from academics to appearance and social
