Active and attentive class
The class of people who are politically active and well-informed
Civil disobedience
Intentionally breaking the law to make a political point
Social movement
Purposeful, directed actions by a large group of people attempting to achieve some sort of purpose
Charismatic leader
Someone with the ability to entrance and coordinate the masses
Traditional democratic theory
Considers voting, political affiliation, working in campaigns, and running for office to be the proper means of political activity.
Modern pluralist theory
Stresses interest group affiliation and activity as a way to be politically active
Spectator activities
Activities which demand a minimum of time, effort and political resources
Political resources
The means of exercising influence that an individual or group can bring to bear in the political arena
