He first went to Portugal who said no and then went to King Ferdinad and Queen Isabella who agreed

Learnt to sail on the Mediterranean as a boy and then went to Portugal and studied Navigation and Atlantic Sailing
What did he get for his journey?
He was given 3 ships The Pinta, The Niña (caravels) and The Santa Maria (neo).
Who captained the Pinta and the Niña?
Brothers Vincente and Martin Pinzón
When did the voyage begin?
3rd of August 1492. The ships first sailed from Palos to The Canaries,miners they took on supplies. After that, they sailed to the Atlantic
When was land sighted?
On October 12th 1492, land was sighted. Columbus claimed it and named it San Salvador. He called the natives Indians and explored the islands for the next 3 years.
Where else did he discover?
He also discovered Cuba and Hispaniola.
When did he return to Spain?
He returned in March 1495, with pineapples and natives
What did he believe?
He believed the earth was round, and that you could sail west and reach the east.
When was Columbus born?
He was born in 1451 in Genoa
