What are collectivistic cultures?
Cultures where the people primarily see themselves as part of a whole/group/family/network. Examples: Asia, Africa, Latin America.
What is development aid?
Technical and financial aid given by governments and other agencies to support economic, environmental, social and political development. Improving living conditions.
What is impact evaluation?
Assesses the changes that can be attributed to a particular intervention. Intended and unintended side effects of the programme.
What is interdependent self-construal?
viewing the self in terms of relationships with others. Collectivistic cultures.
What is the Theory of change?
An explanation of how and why a set of activities will bring about the changes the project’s designers seek to achieve.
What is the Modernization theory?
A theory that explains the process of modernization within societies. How traditional societies transform into more modern societies.
What is a result chain?
How different components of an intervention relate to each other. From the inputs (support) to the outputs and long-term goals
