depends on health
How to determine respiration rate in an infant
Count number of times abdomen rises, instead of chest.
Belly breathing because rib cage is less developed and is less rigid
What are the neonatal reflexes
moro reflex - (startle reflex) arms open wide, spreads fingers, seems to grab at things.
Palmar grasp - place something in palm
Rooting reflex - touch cheek, turns head towards that side.
Sucking reflex - stroke lips to start suckling
What is secure attachment?
Bonding or formation of close personal relationships. Opposite is anxious-avoidance in infants who have been repeatedly rejected.
When does antisocial behavior and peer pressure tend to peak?
Around 14 to 16 years of age
What is the terminal drop hypothesis?
Mental function is presumed to drop in the final 5 years of ones natural life.
