Chapter 6 - Engine Indicating Flashcards
What does the engine indicating system provide?
It provides the crew with the required data for engine condition trend monitoring and performance checks on the ground, and indications concerning the engine parameters during flight
How are the gas gen and power turbine speed monitored?
By magnetic pick-up sensors installed on the engine
What does the torque-meter oil pressure transmitter provide?
Torque indication
What does the ITT provide?
An indication of the gas temp through four double thermocouples
What 5 parameters are shown on the MFD?
ITT P NG P Oil Press S Oil Temp S TQ P
What 3 parameters are show on the PFD?
Power index
NR
NF
How many thermocouples (type K) are there, where are they located?
There are 4 double thermocouples located in the turbine inner duct plane (connected to the T4.5 junction box)
Where do the 2 exhaust gas temp raw signals go?
CHS VMM
EECU
What does the T4.5 confirmation box do?
The confirrmation is calibrated to each individual engine and must stay with that one. The confirmation calculates what the T4 is for the specific engine as i gets the T4 is too hot 1200 to get a measurement from
What does the torque indication system indicate?
The torque of the engine output shaft via a torque meter oil pressure transmitter
Where is the torque confirmation box matched?
Mod 1
what type is the NR seed sensor and where is it located?
Transmission lower casing. Triple coil magnetic speed sensor.
Gives 3 frequency outputs of RPM to the EECU and VMM
