Affirmative registration
Action on the part of women to actively seek to be included on juries.
Blue-Ribbon Jury
a jury considered by either side to be ideal because of the perceived likelihood of rendering a verdict favorable to that side.
Challenge of cause
Method used by either prosecutor or defense attorney to strike or remove prospective jurors from the available jury pool because of prejudices they might have.
Evidence-driven Jury
Jury that decides to consider all evidences presented as relevant.
Grand Jury
investigative bodies whose duties include determining probable cause and returning formal charges against suspects
Hung Jury
Jury that cannot agree on a verdict
Juror Misconduct
any impropriety by a juror such as sleeping during the trial, reading newspaper accounts or accepting gratuities in exchange for a favorable vote.
Jury nullification
Jury refuses to accept the validity of evidence at trial and acquits for a lesser offense.
Jury sequestration
The process of isolating a jury from the public during a trial.
Peremptory challenge
Rejection of a juror by either the prosecution or the defense in which no reason need to be provided.
Petit Jury
The trier of fact in a criminal case

Applying scientific method to select jurors.
Venire
List of prospective jurors in a given jurisdiction.
Venireman list
same as venire
Verdit-driven Jury
Jury that decides innocence or guilt first without considering adequately the relevant evidence in the case.
