Thymine 1 of 4 bases of DNA, when UV hits a pair of thymine they abnormally bond into a covalent bond between the two thymine molecules and become THYMINE DIMER, DNA absorbs 265nm of UV spectrum. Exposure to UV radiation increase formation of thymine dimers increase of mutations lead to cell death
