What is our road policing target?
5% reduction in deaths every year, based on 2017 when 378 were lost
What is the overarching principle for fleeing drivers?
Public and police safety take precedence over the immediate apprehension of fleeing drivers.
What are some of the additional principles?
FDI must be managed in the safest possible manner
An enquire phase is preferred over FDP
FDI will only be commenced and/or continued if seriousness of the offence, outweigh the risk
The fact that the driver is fleeing does not justify a FDP
Decisions to abandon will be supported
Police employees to use TENR
FD will be held to account
What is a fleeing driver?

How do police balance their conduct and FD?
